Great constructivist textbook

This book is really a six. It is a must have for every science teacher who wants to be the best he or she can be. The sections I really like are those that cover process skills, questioning, the nature of science, the learning cycle, and inquiry. After applying many of the concepts in this book I see myself as more of a motivator and facilitor and I have more of a philosophy that teaching is the art of engaging minds. The best part is that I see improvement in my high school students' ability to build there own understanding...because I have become a better teacher. So, for me they couldn't put a price on this book. I would definitely recommend it.

Terrible Textbook - Waste of Time/Money

The 5-star review I saw must have been written by a friend of one of the authors. This text was a waste of my money. The chapter on classroom management was about lab safety and cooperative groups??? Other chapters seemed identical, repeating the same information. Little practical application if you are looking for a book to make you a better teacher.
